Simple answers to difficult questions.
Much of the Bible speaks to us in such simple terms that even children can understand it. But some parts of it raise questions that demand clear, substantial answers. The Gospels, for instance tell us that Jesus said:
•    “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48, KJV)
•    It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs”  (Matthew 15: 26, KJV; emphasis added)
•    “Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death” (John 8:51, KJV)
Was Jesus setting a standard no one can reach? Was He ignoring – or worse, insulting – a desperate mother because of her race and gender? Was He making a promise He knew wouldn’t be kept? What did Jesus really mean?
